Answer: No, this is counted cross stitch. You start with a blank piece of linen and have to count all the stitches. It's very time consuming but the results are beautiful! -

It is fairly simple to complete, but be aware that the pattern is complicated with different stitching techniques. The finished product is stunning and it makes for a great gift. The instructions are easy to read and the threads are organized. The only downside is that some customers did not like the beige fabric included.
