The Car DC 12V 4A Voltage Stabilizer Surge Protector Power Supply Regulator for Auto Truck Vehicle Boat Solar System etc is a device that regulates voltage for sensitive electronic equipment to protect them from over-current, input transient high voltage and chip over-temperature. It has a DC10-36V input with DC12V output and can be used to stabilize voltage for 12v smd leds, backup cameras, radios and GPS systems, and even regulate voltage coming out of a small outboard motor for charging a battery. The inputs and outputs are isolated, but there is no input short circuit protection and reversed connection protection. The wire is not 20 gauge but near 12 or 14 AWG, which is fine for 15 or 20 amps.
