Additionally, some customers have reported that the wood chips easily and can mix with the spices. One buyer was unable to use the product altogether because of rough exposed wood, making it unsafe for use. While the mortar works great for grinding other things like pepper, it takes a lot of effort for a fine powder. Unfortunately, the bowl on this specific product cracked after only three uses.
