The pencils are made to look like oil paints and go on smoothly. They are a colored lead rather than typical writing pencil lead. They are not washable but can be sharpened with an ordinary pencil sharpener. The color of the pencil holder matches the color of the pencil. Although there is no color chart in the packaging, there are hundreds of charts available through a simple Google search. When using the pencils, the corresponding color on the label should be used. The set does not have linen ash and is not labeled with names of the colors, just numbers. Overall, these pencils have a strong coverage and are suitable for beginners and experts alike.
