Answer: One's I have done no they aren't Y seams, but haven't done this on. -

Answer: They do suggest a special ruler and it did make it easy. -

Are the 2 suggested rulers required to complete this quilt?
Answer: I only see one ruler listed, the Sidekick. There is a template pattern as well. Have not made this pattern, a friend has and it was lovely!
