This Celestron zoom eyepiece is a convenient replacement for regular eyepieces, offering adjustable magnification from 8mm to 24mm without the need for multiple lenses. It can be enhanced with a 2x or 3x Barlow lens, although this could cause some distortion at higher magnifications. It is threaded for filters and camera T-Rings for astrophotography. The lack of click stops means there is no audible marker when changing magnification but allows for smoother transitions between settings. This eyepiece does not erect images or have a click stop feature. Some customers found the zoom eyepiece hard to turn, making it difficult to use or blurry at lower magnifications. However, most were generally happy with the views it provided, especially for the price point, and reported improved image quality and detail compared to standard eyepieces.
